Understanding Mediumship and Psychic ability

Understanding Mediumship and Psychic ability

Definition of a Medium,

  • A medium is one who can tap into the vibrations from the spirit world and convey a message from someone who has crossed over from this life into the next. The spirit world is where we go after we leave our physical bodies. The Medium being sensitive to energy and to the vibrations of other realms can pick up or tune into that vibration opening a dialogue of communication from souls in the spirit world. Think of it as a radio frequency, as humans we vibrate at a much lower frequency than those in the spirit world. The medium has the ability to raise their vibration to tune into the correct “radio frequency” - so to speak, to then receive messages and communication. The role of the medium is to tune into the vibration of the other side, and bring forward specific information, with the intention to assist in healing, guiding, and re-connecting people with their loved ones. For example, during a session I may say, your husband is coming through. He is telling me that you both would go to the pier close to your home every Friday evening & watch the sunset. He’s telling me that you still have his bright red sweatshirt, which is the one he used to wear when you would go there. He’s telling me to encourage you to go there again and know that when you do, he will still be with you in spirit.

Definition of a Psychic,

  • A Psychic receives information by using their own intuitive senses. The way that I personally turn this ability on and off, is I completely quiet my mind of any thought, set the intention to receive information for the client, then information comes to me. If a client needs help or guidance with any specific areas of their life, this is a moment where the client may ask a specific question. Psychic information or psychic readings can be particularly valuable in this scenario. For example, I may say during a session, I see that you have two siblings one older brother and one younger sister. I sense and feel you have a closer bond with the older sibling, I see that you have some unresolved issues with the younger sister. I also see you living on the third floor in an apartment building and there is a yellow carpet upon entering the home. This type of reading is particularly valuable to people struggling with a particular and specific area of their life. I have helped people using this ability in business, relationships, even law enforcement investigations. For clients requesting more of a psychic reading as opposed to a mediumistic reading, I would encourage them to come prepared with specific questions or areas of concern.

Difference between a Medium and a Psychic?

  • The difference between a psychic and a medium is where the information is coming from. Psychic information is received by the psychic using their own intuition and extra senses. I often describe a psychic reading as projecting my own consciousness outside of my body to then search and find specific information that I normally could not receive. Mediumistic information is received from the spirit directly communicating with the medium and conveying messages in a form of a conversation or dialog.

As a Psychic and a Medium - does information constantly come to you? If so, isn’t that draining?

  • Psychics and Mediums are born with this ability, but it is up to us to develop, train, and learn how to control it. Yes, it can be overwhelming and draining at times. I have learned how to consciously turn the “switch” on and off at will, which took me years of practice. Years ago, I was way too open and would pick up information everywhere I went, which was indeed draining feeling everyone’s pain and emotions. However, it is a constant practice. There is no such thing as a completely developed or trained psychic or medium. We are constantly evolving, learning, and bettering our control over the abilities. What has helped me the most is keeping my body and health in the best physical shape possible. Working out every day, eating healthy, practicing yoga, martial arts, and boxing. I believe the more we strengthen the mind and body, the healthier our mindset is, and the more overall confidence we build to every area of our life. Particularly to mediumship and psychic abilities, the stronger the mind the more powerful and accurate we can become. However, there is no such thing as a completely developed medium or psychic. As with anything in life the moment you think you mastered something, GOD always has a way of showing you there is always another level of learning and development.
